MODOT reminds drivers to watch out for motorcyclists

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - As the temperature warms up during the summer, so does the risk of fatalities for motorcyclists. In 2019, 15 percent of Missouri traffic fatalities involved a motorcycle, with 120 lives lost.

Law enforcement program manager for the Missouri Department of Transportation Scott Wilson told KXCV/KRNW that there are some easy steps to prevent crashes.

Wilson also urges motorcyclists to wear brightly colored clothes to increase visibility and to always ride in the middle of the lane where you can be more visible.
